“Sleep Etherea: Transcendence of Human Identity” is an exhibition of transcendental moments of the human experience that invites viewers to ask questions about identity, human interconnectedness and the authority we give to the past.
In this body of work, dreamscapes and ethereal figures explore the unconsciousness and observe the human form in moments of sleep, dream, death and rebirth. Using symbolism and metaphor drawn from human mythology to emphasize renewal, transformation and metamorphosis to expresses fleeting moments that are beyond our conventional attachment to identity.
The last few years have challenged me to shed past identities and embrace new ones, but they have also taught me that accepting vulnerability and giving lighter authority to attachments is a continuous battle within the human consciousness. This journey has led me to explore these moments of transformation in my art.
